A proven technique to improve doctoring performance and efficiency.

Features/Benefits

Oscillation Improves Doctoring Efficiency

Any type of oscillation greatly improves the overall performance of the doctoring function. By oscillating the doctor through a 3 /4" horizontal stroke, particle build-up under the doctor blade is minimized. The continuous motion also encourages more even blade wear which can result in longer blade life while minimizing the possibility of roll scoring.

Pneumatic Oscillation Applications

Pneumatic oscillation is ideal for use in the Fourdrinier section (on breast rolls, wire return rolls and guide rolls), the press section and the calender sections. Additionally, it is ideal in any location where space is limited or the atmosphere is too wet for an electrical oscillation system.

How Pneumatic Oscillation Works

The pneumatic oscillation system consists of a pair of airrides which can be mounted directly to the ends of the journals or in tandem at one end. Both arrangements provide direct force on the doctor journal to accomplish movement.

Actuation is achieved by using filtered air at 60 PSIG supplied to a solenoid valve which is triggered by a 115 volt, A.C., solid-state timer. The time cycle (frequency) is adjustable. Precise control is attained by using a flow control valve installed in the exhaust line. A single control panel is capable of oscillating multiple doctors for efficient and economical operation of the system.
